The EASD Academy calls for new Committee Members

The EASD Academy is seeking new Committee members as we continue to grow and develop our activities to support, train, mentor, and create opportunities for scientists, clinicians, and students. We are committed to maintain a strong and vibrant organisation that will make a positive impact in supporting early career researchers and clinicians in the field of diabetes. We believe that a diverse and dedicated committee is essential to achieving this goal.

If you are a member of EASD and passionate about our mission, we encourage you to apply to join our Committee.

Joining the EASD Academy Committee will give you the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing activities, as well as develop new ideas and shape the direction of the EASD Academy initiatives, in association with the EASD Board.

Since its launch in September 2022, the EASD Academy has already contributed to:

  • create specific sessions for early career researchers at the EASD Annual Meeting.
  • develop a new platform for continuous learning, with Journal Clubs in collaboration with Diabetologia, and webinars held by senior experts.
  • start a new mentorship program, which pairs early-career scientists with leaders in the field of diabetes.

As a member of the EASD Academy Committee, you will agree to commit for a duration of 2 years, starting from mid-2023. Members attend monthly meetings (remote) and are expected to participate to the organisation of the different activities, such as the Journal Club and mentoring programme.

To candidate, please sent a short letter - max 1 A4 - indicating why you would be interested and like to be selected for this position, as well as your CV. A particular attention will be paid to the diversity of European countries and applicant profiles represented in the Committee.

Please apply before 16 April 2023 and send your letter to

About the EASD Academy

The EASD Academy is an initiative to support, train, mentor, and create opportunities for scientists, clinicians, and students who are at an early or intermediate stage of their career, with an interest in diabetes research and/or clinical practice. Its core objective is to provide unique opportunities for development, a platform for exchange of knowledge and experience, peer-support, and interaction with the wider EASD community.

Through these activities it will support and motivate early-career researchers and clinicians in the field of diabetes to become the future leaders that pursue excellence in diabetes care and research. The EASD Academy is an initiative under the umbrella of European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), a non-profit, medical scientific association.
